Jessica Alba - Sin City

Jessica Alba plays a stripper, Nancy in SIN CITY. Interestingly, in the original graphic novel, “Sun City” written by Frank Miller, Nancy was supposed to be topless. This movie is based on three of Miller’s graphic novels, ‘Sin City,’ ‘That Yellow Bastard’ and ‘The Big Fat Kill’ and is co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. In the movie Hartigan, a cop with a mission to protect stripper Nancy, is played by Bruce Willis and there is an abundance of criminals, crooked cops and sexy dames who are looking for revenge and reparation.

When Jessica was asked whether she was aware of the topless outfit of the original character in the novel and why she had accepted to play this role, she said that the prime reason was that Robert Rodriguez was the director of the movie. She added that nudity in the role being played by her was negotiable and that all that she wanted to do was to dance around with a lasso and chaps, which she thought was sexy enough.

In order to do full justice to the role, Jessica Alba worked out to keep herself healthy and even visited strip clubs to learn how strippers dance and strip. Her request for a choreographer was turned down by the director and she was told to play the role as she naturally could do. She was told that she would have to emulate the snake dance that Salma Hayek did in ‘From Dusk Till Dawn.’ It was a very sexy dance although she wasn’t naked.

Jessica felt extremely nervous at the idea of dancing around with a snake around her although some Texans taught her how to rope and lasso. “My heart was beating so fast I was so nervous”, says Jessica herself. She felt a little confident after the Texans taught her the technique of rope and lasso.
